TODAY'S GUEST: Jessica Frost-Ballas!

Good morning!  Jess here from All the Sparkle to share a pair of cards using the gorgeous Life is Lovely and Butterfly Jar sets.  I thought the two sets would play well together and they definitely did not disappoint!

I decided to use a simple summery color palette with bold pops of black and gold.  I started by stamping the flowers from Life is Lovely in three shades of pink and peach.  I started by stamping the largest flowers first and then filled in with the smaller flowers to create a diagonal pattern from the lower left to the upper right.

Then I stamped the sentiment and butterflies from Butterfly Jar with intense black ink and finished the card with a few matte black sequins!

My second card follows a very similar pattern but this time I wanted to put a little more emphasis on that beautiful butterfly from Butterfly Jar.  After stamping my flowers and sentiment from Life is Lovely I stamped my butterfly with versamark on vellum and heat-embossed him with gold tinsel embossing powder.

Then I turned my butterfly over and used the same ink pads to swipe color onto the vellum.  I blasted him with my heat gun and then let him sit for a few hours to make sure the ink had time to dry.  Then I fussy cut the butterfly used a stylus to curl up the edges of his wings, and adhered him to the card with a strip of scor-tape applied only to his abdomen.  Finally I added a few metallic gold sequins to finish the card!

Many many thanks to Flora & Fauna for inviting me to guest for them today and thanks to you for stopping by!  I hope I gave you some inspiration for these beautiful sets!  Have a fabulous day and happy crafting!
