Guest Blogger: Sandy Allnock

 Hello there!

My name is Sandy Allnock and I'm so excited to be one of the first guest here at Flora & Fauna! I've known Cindi for what seems like eons, and when she said she was starting to make clear stamps - well I knew I had to jump in and play! A little about me....I'm an artist and papercrafter, and I *love* to color. I use all kinds of mediums, all kinds of markers, paints, and pencils - it doesn't matter to me as long as I get color onto paper! I have a YouTube channel filled with hundreds of videos (broken into playlists on different mediums; and on my blog, scroll down to see all my cards broken into categories too, for easy searching. I do offer some online classes too, so poke around at sandyallnock.com hopefully you'll find something you can learn from stopping by. I can also be found on Instagram and on my Facebook page - hope to meet up with you out there on the web!

Cindi sent me the "Adventure" stamp set, and I've created a video to share some tips on Copic coloring and especially - my favorite blending groups.  Lots of Copic users have wanted to know what my favorite/most re-inked colors are - and I created this Copic Blending Groups page with a nice visual of them! Click on the image to see it full size:  I'll use a couple of those blending groups in today's video - watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube. https://youtu.be/nV91CGllHCs

To finish off my card, I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5-3/8", and rounded the corners at the bottom. Then I rounded the bottom corners of a top-fold card base, and added the colored panel on top with foam tape. I aligned the top edge so there's only a border on three sides.  I hope you enjoyed my little card today! Join me in wishing Cindi and Lara great success in their venture here at Flora & Fauna. I'll be applauding them all the way!  Below are links to the supplies I’ve used for today’s project:

Thank you Sandy for making such a clever card for us! You are so talented and I know every time I watch one of your videos I learn something! We are excited to be giving away our Adventure set to one lucky winner and all you need to do is leave a comment on the blog. Winner will be announced Tuesday, April 4th.

CONTEST CLOSED: WINNER - Kim Potts, we will contact you to get your mailing address. Congratulations!

  • You have some great stamping images on your site. I think I’ve seen the llama used in a previous demonstration and loved the fact that the images lend themselves to colorful colors and a little off-beat designs!
